English as a Second Language Endorsement

Benedictine University's English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement program was designed to meet the urgent need within Illinois school districts to provide teachers who can address the cultural, linguistic and developmental needs of a diverse group of students. Completion of this 18-credit-hour program and 100 practicum hours, as prescribed by the university, will enable certified teachers to obtain the additional state of Illinois approval needed to receive an ESL endorsement.
