Superintendency Certificate

The Superintendency Certificate is designed to prepare future school leaders for the essential position of superintendent of K-12 schools. The program is for practicing administrators and/or those with masters' degrees and principal certificates who wish to work toward Superintendent Certification.

The Certificate has been designed to help students seeking superintendency:

• Understand the responsibilities of a superintendent from the perspectives of political dynamics and their connections to the policy process.
• Evaluate educational facilities related to planning, financing, design, construction and maintenance.
• Evaluate the financing of public education to effectively produce student learning.
• Understand the foundations and contemporary issues in K-12 curriculum and assessment from the perspective of a superintendent
